Sandra Stahlheber, Harald Kühn
Fiori di Limone
Fiori di Limone - Lemon Blossoms is the title of a recent program of mezzo-soprano Sandra Stahlheber and guitarist Harald Kühn, dedicated to the Italian canzone. The title is also an homage to Goethe´s famous praise of the land where the lemons blossom. Just like Goethe, both musicians (born in the German Palatinate) wander through Italy while discovering the fascinating and rich musical landscapes of songs, including treasures of the Renaissance composer Lucca Marenzio or the Baroque arias of Antonio Caldaras. The arias of Paisello, just like the melodies of Donizetti, exude the Mediterranean scent of fiori di limone.
Mezzo-Soprano Sandra Stahlheber
was born in Kandel (Palatinate). She studied vocal music at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim (State Conservatory), taught by Prof. Katharina Dau, and graduated with a variety of diploma degrees (teacher of vocal music, vocal music soloist for concerts and operas).
She participated in numerous master courses in Germany and abroad, including courses held by Klesie Kelly (Cologne), Ingeborg Danz (Stuttgart), and Carol Forte (Toronto). She performed as a member of several well-renowned ensembles and choirs, such as Gächinger Kantorei under the direction of Helmut Rilling.
With her solo performances, she toured Germany and other countries focusing on oratorios and songs (including Haendel´s Messiah, Bach´s Passion of John, and de Falla´s Siete canciones populares espganolas.
Additionally, she performed for cd and radio recordings. Her artistic profile includes solo parts in several musical theatre productions, e.g. "Haensel" in Humperdinck´s Haensel and Gretel or "Dido" in Purcell´s Dido and Aeneas. She had a guest part in Papageno plays the magic flute, produced by Nationaltheater Mannheim.
