Guitar Duo "Transalp"

Viaggio in Italia

On their musical journey through Italy, the Italian musician Alberto Delle Piane and his German colleague Harald Kühn travel – just like their literary predecessor Goethe – from Bergamo in the North (and the songs of Donizetti) to Naples in the South (with its world-famous song melodies).

On their way they sojourn in Venice (with Vivaldi´s Concerto for Lute), in Florence (with Castelnuovo Tedesco´s Music for Well-tempered Guitars) and in Pesara located at the Adriatic Sea (with Rossini´s Ouverture to Elisabetta or Il Babiere di Seviglia in a version for two guitars by Giuliani). They complete their journey in the city which has become a synonym fro Italy: Naples (presenting compositions of Scarlatti and Canzoni napolitana).

The Italian guitarist Alberto Delle Piane lives in Asti, Piedmont, and his German colleague Harald Kühn in Landau, Palatinate. They first met during their solo studies with Angelo Gilardino (Art Director of the Andrés Segovia Society at Linares, Spain, one of the highest profiled guitar celebrities)

Both have practiced European spirit and collaboration in their projects long before the EURO became the common European currency.

Alberto Delle Piane,

was born in Asti, Piedmont and studied at the conservatory of his home town under guidance of Mauro Scagliotti. In 1993, he received his diploma from the conservatory G. Verdi at Turin. In 1996, he received his soloist diploma at the Academia Internazionale Superiore

L. Perosi from the hands of Angelo Gilardino. He also participated in master courses taught by Gianni Nuti, Luigi Biscaldi, Tilman Hoppstock, and Dusan Bogdanovic. After his placement and participation in national and international musical competitions, he presently focuses on solo concert performances and chamber music projects. Together with Trio Citharoedia, he performed works composed by Farkas and Gilardino for a Niccoló cd recording.
